Let us get our gardening on! I love to garden. Used to be I had to squeeze the time in, with raising 5 kids alone and working and getting my education. Now I feel I'm channeling my beloved Mamaw, she could grow ANYTHING and I was her sidekick! I never knew I had retained so much nor realized it would come back to my consciousness!
I love to grow flowers and veggies from seed when I can. And NOT MODIFIED seeds either. So a little harder to track down and a bit more expensive but worth it!
Bushes and shrubs I get from garden centers. I love roses, wisteria, peonies, holly, and the list goes on endlessly!
Sunflowers, Dianthus, Hollyhocks, Morning Glory, Lantana, Asters, Giant Zinnias, Sweet Potato Vines, Monkey Grass, various Herbs, Coleus, Caladiums, Verbena, a lone surviving Pumpkin plant, amongst others, are finishing up in my front garden now. (I live in a townhome). My pots hold Mums, Coleus, Dianthus, Creeping Jenny, Herbs and succulents now. It's mid September and still warm in the south., however, most annual plants are ending their cycles. Perennials have either finished blooming because they were summer bloomers or are getting ready to show their Fall Glory! And my treasured Christmas Cactus over summered well!
Gardening is a wonderful adventurous rewarding pastime. It is a love it or leave it hobby. It relaxes, sometimes frustratess, exercises and soothes. Are you Ready?
